I was thinking I might get there for some training on Friday. Which bit would you recommend? I was thinking of the slope to the SW of the AA box (as it's more like Glen Tanar than elsewhere).
I'll be using an old map as I haven't got the training maps.
That slope is OK, not too much thinning (at least above big diagonal track). Area to north of the AA box - detailed contours - is also great. Take your blaeberry harvester :-)
...and you can get yourself a training map at ballater bike station
Ballater not exactly on my way from the south...
It would be if you came over Glenshee :-)
But I'm already in Fettercairn. ...
Its nice diversion from there ;-)
Just back from a fun hour at Glen Dye.
SW slope tough but good training. Quite a bit more windblow than shown on my 2006 map. Bilberry tasty but tough running.
