Ha ha! I guess when you're waiting for 'the perfect wave' you have all sorts of time for such dialog.
But Chicago is truly becoming a bike city. As are a few other big cities. Did you see this article
in the NYTimes a couple of days ago about more bicycles than cars on certain NYC streets?
Much faster and more pleasant to bike, particularly through grid-locked streets at rush hour, than to be entrapped in a steel cage, sitting on an explosive tank of gas. But when I'm riding with Soupbone, I gotta slow way down. He's still a bit cautious in the city. :-)
