Hi Christian,

The new trail south of Stillwater (starts right at the Dock cafe) is missing about 1/4 mile of blacktop . There is about 1 mile of blacktop S of Stillwater then a steep climb of about 1/4 mile of eroded gravel narrow path up the hill to the bridge approach where the blacktop starts again). We used the gravel going to the bridge but elected to use highway (with a moderate shoulder, 40 mph speed limit, moderate traffic and downhill ) on the way back.

The new bridge itself has a wide trail on the N side for pedestrians and bikes. It has a steady roughly 3% grade uphill into WI. This trail is totally barricaded off from the traffic. At the eastern end (Wisconsin side) there is no exit (unless you jump a fence) until you go about 1 mile inland then you can double back 1 mile to get on Hwy 35 S or go further east into WI .
