I had breakfast right before and lunch right after so I didn't get hangry. I had about 800 calories with me if I'd needed it. I seldom eat in a run under 2 hours and this wasn't that much longer. If it were a race, I would have been eating though.
There is a school of thought that you should do some fasting runs in the morning to encourage your body to burn more fat. Kilian Jornet sometimes runs for hours without food in order to get used to runnning on empty. My foodless run wasn't following any special training philosophy though. I just wanted to feel nice and hungry when we got to the restaurant!
I liked that run, would love to try it again! I also like that brunch - would like to try that again too!
