really helpful on snow,
never so convinced otherwise.
Maybe the continentals like them on rough terrain because they are more used to running good trails? For an orienteer rough ground is not an issue.

Hmmm, also not convinced. It's more the very steep climbs that they are useful for though - I don't find them very helpful on rough ground, more likely to trip myself up!
