| Flying Scotsman: | So what did you end up winning??
I thought I saw you as the SPRINT CHAMP by 4 sec!! That is mighty close! The classic race looked like quite a difference time wise but I never knew you were a sprinter!! How did you fare in the others? Sprinting is no use for 48hr adventure racing you know..... Well done |

| ebone: | Thanks! Yes, I won the U.S. Sprint Championships. The guy 4 seconds behind me, Lachezar Iliev, is on the Bulgarian team so is not eligible for U.S. Champs awards, so 2nd and 3rd were Boris Granovskiy and Ross Smith, 12 and 18 seconds behind. My sprint orienteering ability (by North American standards) ranges from poor to very good, depending on the terrain and course setting. I usually do better at long races, but not this weekend. |

| Terry: | How long has there been a US Sprint Championship, and have you ever been sprint champ before?
Oooh, did you get a trophy? |

| ebone: | I don't remember how long there has been a sprint championships. A few years. I've never won before. Yes, I got a cute little cup trophy. It fit in my cargo pants pocket...sort of. :-)
Okay, time for some reminiscing... I have won the following U.S. Orienteering Championships in M-21+ (elite/open): Intercollegiate - 4 (1993-96) --not an age-group competition Short Course - 1 (1994, first ever) Night - 1 (1998, I think) Long Distance - 2 (1998, 2002) *** 11/12 EDIT: 2005 *** Classic - 1 (2003) Sprint - 1 (2007) Vladimir and I took first place in the 2002 U.S. Rogaining Champs but weren't championship-eligible according to the rules at the time. There's a very good chance I've left something out or gotten one of the years wrong. I've gotten a much larger number of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. The wins don't come easy! |

| jtorranc: | Not sure whether it's there with the wrong year or omitted but add the Long Champs at Fair Hill in 2005. |

| ebone: | Oh, right! I'm surprised that I forgot about that one. It was fairly recent and a really fun race. I added it as an edit. |
