Bro, You are a champ. I really enjoyed the write up (except I'm having a hard time shaking the image of the crotch lube from the beginning out of my head..haha thanks!) It sounds like you had the perfect support to get it done, and I'm endlessly proud of you!

Great write-up Hugh! 36 gels - makes me a little nauseous just thinking about it. And I never would have guessed avocado would be a good ultra food.

If you take momentary leave of your senses again and decide to do another one of these crazy things, I would still be up for crewing/pacing.

Thanks, Tom. Yeah, the gels get monotonous, for sure. Those Carb Boom! ones really were amazingly less nauseating over time. And all-in-all, I'd MUCH rather have a bunch of avocado. So, so good. It's just a super-mild, pleasant flavor, I guess.

Thanks for the offer! Next 100, I'll probably take you up on that. None in the plans at this point ... maybe something ~100k in the spring, but we'll see.

I am so happy for you with this finish. It makes me excited for my re-attempt at the Grindstone. I too have been bothered by frequent urination later in a race. The joys of getting older. Congratulations and thanks for the write up.

Thanks, Karl! I'm really happy you're finding inspiration in my slog. Hopefully a bit less rain for you, and ... more lube! ;)

Seems like the 'gotta pee' is a common ailment. Beats the opposite, by far!

If you want to chat about Grindstone, just let me know. I love planning! If I can get the GPX file, I can set up a pace chart for you, too, that takes climb into account. Pretty useful!
