seems like soccer is your best bet...w/o the bicycle kicks.after all you can run for an hour in a soccer game w multiple sprints and surges thrown in - what a great aerobic base fartlek session. just forget that you are a great soccer player and go for the running:)
I like soccer for sure, and played it before becoming a runner (another story), although I tend to get injured. Good to have variety though.

yeah, workouts have to be challenging or they seem boring. i've got a couple of workouts on treadmill i can do that are pretty tough but it can be challenging not to get bored in between. what about you? you have hinted that you might shake things up w/ longer distance, aerobic stuff but are you finding it difficult to go for it- motivation, too much work and travel, danger of injury?
