Nice paddle. I bike shuttle on all my river trips. Haven't done any good ones in Mi but several on the Des Plaines and Fox rivers in Wi and Il. Really nice bike paths on the Des Plains in and around the Lake County Forest Preserves. Im always reluctant to leave my bike as I don't have a good way to secure it to my narrow SK. I'd assume you portage yours in a canoe? Are you solo? Two bike portage would be even more cumbersome.

I was meeting my friend Barbara, who you might recognize from Nitrogaine. We do a lot of out and backs, but it worked out we both have the same brand / model of old cheap canoe, so we were set up to do this, and then I just locked up to her bike rack on her Subie when I got to the put in, so maybe we'll do this more now. Also, our beater canoes have riveted aluminum cross braces, so if we do it again, we can lock up the boats as well.

My family's not far from the Fox - I did part of it out of Burlington, WI, for a project in high school.
