For caffeine, I use green tea extract capsules, with caffeinated beans/shot blocks/gu and in cooler situations an AWAKE choc bar. In a situation of not a lot of self support (eg WT with bins) I would throw in a doubleshot espresso.
Yeah, the amount of climb was crazy. Thanks for the ideas! Usually the caffeinated snacks are enough to keep us awake, but not this time...we'll need to test some stronger options.
You may feel peppier not racing after a several hundred mile move. Ask Maria how wrecked I was when I raced in the week we were getting our house pictures taken at the old place. If anyone figures out how to fully disassociate from life stress, please let me know!
You guys were moving really well every time I saw you and I felt you were certainly going to be among those that cleared the course. Sounds like the windmills weren't too nice to you guys however. Living in Pittsburgh will cure that though!
