Discussion: Wil & Dave

I didn't realise they were traveling over for it. Last time I spoke to Dave about rogaining (possibly the 12hr we did together earlier in the year) he mentioned that after this year's WA champs he was going to do more social events! By social I assume he meant less competitive.

Does SA give the trophy to foreigners? We must be alone in that regard in that we don't (at least not for orienteering - don't know about rogaining since no-one travels to WA for our state event so there's no precedent that I know of).

Yeah, I pretty much gave up on any idea of winning as soon as I had realised that they were coming across (so for me & Zara it was a bit more of a social rogaine than usual). I never got to speak to them afterwards because they had left before the presentations - something about a flight to catch. On the intention sheets at controls overnight we could see that they were just getting further and further ahead of us...!

Last year's SA Champs winners had to post the trophy back from NZ :)
