looks like you crossed over that singletrack. It goes right through the circle ditches.

Or maybe you're talking about the lower trail on the 2013 map (since you went to 6, not 5). Not sure if that one exists at the indistinct area, I downgraded the 'good' part of it.

hope to square this away next year

Tom O:
I crossed an indistinct trail shortly after leaving 4 but it was too soon to be the one on the map so I kept going and then never found the mapped one. I just pushed through the green and eventually hit the large boulder a little low on the hill and corrected from there.

There were quite a few new unmapped mountain bike trails. Ed told me some retired dentist goes out and creates new trails all the time at Hay Creek. Who do these people think they are? They don't own the park and have no right to be creating trails without permission. This type of stuff just gives mountain bikers a bad name.

look a little closer at the map. you should see some indistinct small paths? unless it didn't print out somehow.

I met the dentist but he is actually not the trail builder, he just maintains them. There is a long history of rogue trail building at mount penn and now they moved on to Birdsboro. I actual had a meeting with Birdsboro as I am on the mountain biking club board. They don't really care about the trails, they just don't want the spray painters and 4 wheelers. Long story short, I'm involved in trying to get some order :) (after the mount penn meet).
