Discussion: Trail

The trail you found was once a prominently marked climb and part of the Blus system. Seems to have fallen out of favor in recent years. The Blue trail has been rerouted to a steep climb up from the trail around the lake. Actually there are two such trails along that section that need steps to make the trip manageable.

As I came back south on the Blue, I noticed the sharp turn to west and downward. I opted to follow what seemed the more popular trail south and came upon the northernmost paved loop. Good choice, I told myself.

The paved loop went to the Veeder cabin that was in that circle until it started to get vandalized and the state took it down. Back many years ago we could drive up those roads. Unfortunately can’t any more or could use the upper parking lot to start O meets.
