It was quite a good day.
I'm not sure you can see the start triangle on the instagram photo, but that was our cabin. We had a view of Old Faithful from the window.
Great cabin location. I wonder if the eruptions at night would wake you up! In June it was pleasant most of the time so I'm surprised that the sun would make it hot for you at this time. It's a nice place to be. I would have liked to go on some of the hikes you mentioned but that wouldn't work with our kids.
The eruptions didn't wake us. You could hear the sound but it is more like a soothing white noise than something disturbing.
The heat was a surprise. We'd been to YNP twice before in September and hadn't experienced such warm weather. Of course, two days after it was hot, it was just above freezing and a mix or rain and snow. So things balanced out.
I bet the kids would like the hikes in a few more years.
