allright! this after surgery, pretty amazing.

Yeah...5-1/2 weeks ago. Have to admit, I was a bit nervous before the start. Felt a bit nauseous even, with mysterious stomach pains. But manned-up and started the race...and immediately felt a lot better. Just goes to show the power of overcoming your feelings of feebleness when you're old.

Sorry you didn't get a chance at that mile. It would have been fun. But four hours of driving for less than 4 minutes of running (!) doesn't seem like a worthwhile use of time. Sounds like you enjoyed your Sunday morning anyway!
