Well, that is odd. I find that if I record laps on the watch they show up in my AP run summary. Not sure why it didn't work for you. I don't record a lot of laps anymore, now that o-races generally have the splits uploaded by the organizers, but it certainly worked the last time I did. The folks at Garmin support are very knowledgeable and helpful and don't take a lot of your time, if you get to the point you want to ask them.

Agree. I have had good success recording laps. Surprised at your trace. Don’t recall that wide a discrepancy though not too surprising. Seems to depend on the satellites cooperating.

The track I uploaded to AP is a gpx file downloaded to my desktop from GarminConnect, which is the only destination for exporting that I've found so far. How do you guys get your tracks out of the Garmin watch and into AP?

In the Add Training page, upper right corner, is a data entry box which includes the sub-line GC Web sync. Click on that. Sign in with your Garmin Connect ID and AP sucks up your data.
