I have noticed this on two occasions this fall.
One being Stora Tunas winning D21 team at the Swedish Relay Champs when Tove was initially DSQ´d. Organizers were prepared for something like that and quickly collected and read data from the failing unit.
The day before that in a local race one competitor in H70 (running the same course as I did) got three or four controls in a row marked as MP even though he had actually been to them all. He had the best time but was DSQ´d - organizer fixed the results later though.
May not be the same problem on those two examples but yes there must be serious problems if they announce something like this.

I guess it is related to new firmware versions supporting new sticks and touch free punching and all, with various hardware versions.

I hope this does not do things too tedious. if this bug does not get fixed soon I'd say there should be be inspection fee for checking forest units. If mark is found runner gets fee back, if not organizer keeps it. Just to erase unnecessary work (inspections of normal too fast punches or skipped controls and runner just not admitting it).
