Just collecting them for fun now? I was thinking about getting my nexus but I generally have pretty painfree border crossings *knock on wood*

And you need everyone else in your car to also have a Nexus. But I can definitely see it's advantages, especially for solo travel.

Yeah, I think it'll be my new hobby.

The extra advantage for me is that even if there are non-NEXUSers in the car with me, I'll get to queue-jump at the inside queue, so my foreignness will be less of a burden. Also, airports will be way nicer when I have to fly - NEXUS lanes and TSA pre-check FTW :)

Jumping the inside line is a pretty big advantage

Cool! Pascal and I are looking into Nexus, since he's in the same "we need to go inside every time we cross the border" situation. How long did it take from application to Nexus in hand? Pascal has to renews his drivers license in November and I don't want to apply with docs that expire part way through the process....

Why do you guys want to come down here so much? We're a mess...

You are a mess! But we like some of you and you have some neat land where it's not its fault it's American... I mainly just cross the Point Roberts border these days that's a silly border :P

I didn't know about the jumping the inside line. That can be super helpful!

I think we still have to go inside with NEXUS, but we just get our own special lane there. Should be much quicker normally.

It took about a month for the conditional approval to come through. I then got really lucky and got the in-person interview the next day (the next appointment was another month away).

The in-person interview was done in < 30 minutes. The Canadian person was a bit rude, but the US one was super friendly. Such a role reversal to my usual experience!

Note that they've just deployed a new website which doesn't work if you have an ad-blocker (through incompetence rather than on purpose). Took me ages to figure out the problem!
