I am definitely no expert in marathons but it seems to me that this was a very good first go and that you proved that sub-3 would be no problem with a little more experience. Hope the recovery is going well. :-)

Just wondering how much long running you did at Marathon pace. From brief looks at your log I can't remember much marathon-paced long(ish) runs which may inform the wall hitting so hard. I may have this wrong though!
Thanks guys! My "recovery" so far has been doing a lot of sitting, sleeping and eating of biscuits / chocolate! I should probably actually do something a bit more active.
Nic, I didn't do any long running at marathon pace. Pretty happy with my coach's plan but maybe it's something we can look to involve in future.
