Why go east to do north on route 5 when Old Main through Deerfield offers no traffic and better scenery? Geese!

Old Main also offers really crappy pavement, whereas route 5 has a good shoulder and smooth pavement. So it's not an unreasonable choice. Though I'd guess I've gone Main much more often.
