I might imagine he would have been asleep. He rented a chipper yesterday and he was pretty toasted by 2pm and took it back before he collapsed from exhaustion. I had tried to tell him that it would have been a more entertaining outing for two, three or four people than for just one guy on his own, cutting, dragging, feeding and generally managing the behemoth.
Yeah, I thought that might be the case, and it was. When I got up and went down to make breakfast, he suddenly appeared, having been snoozing on the couch. I was surprised, thinking he had been there since the night before and I hadn't noticed him when I was on the opposite couch for a while, but in fact he had been in his room, and had gone downstairs in the morning earlier than I had.
