I hear you Abby! Though coming from a very different starting point :) Helps to have Two Rivers to look forward to. What's your next race?
Good question :) Nothing for the rest of 2017, and I'm not quite sure what's in store for 2018, other than MSAR and Untamed!
Well MSAR should be motivation enough ;)
I also hear you. The first couple months of school this year were brutal for me. I feel like I'm finally coming out of the worst of it (I hope!) and finally reaching a point where I can do anything except come home late from work, make supper, and hide under the covers until I have to go back.
Yep, that's about where I've been the last month, too :) Late nights on campus, leaving for work at 5am a couple days a week, coaching XC, conferences, long commutes -- none of it is all that compatible with training!
But the next couple months are looking more manageable, and next semester's teaching schedule is more forgiving... and going to bed at an hour that takes 5am departures into account wouldn't be the worst idea in the world, either :)
Kateness, funny thing about adventure racing -- opportunities seem to pop up when you're least expecting them.
After basically putting the idea of XPD to bed, my parents called pretty much out of the blue to say that they and my sister were thinking about the race and would be happy to hang out with Zoe if Brent and I still wanted to do it together.
Grandparents and aunt of the decade?
Oh man. Game changer! That's exciting! One that's on our "someday" list for sure. Gotta convince my parents and sister to be as cool as yours!
I have a lot of faith in your family and Starker :)
