Recall being at a meet there (perhaps first use of map) quite a while ago, c. 15 yrs? As I recall, it was fall & we had to pass thru a tall-grass field with snow cover. A very cold start.

That A-meet was at least twenty years ago; I've lived here that long and it pre-dates me!

I looked for the Sardinia map (USOC 1981, 36 years!) as a challenge to memory and what passes for “organization” - maps alphabetically by state but 'blended':-) by me, unintentionally I suppose, over the years. Did not find it (might have lost in a basement flood c. 2000) but did find this article I wrote and found interesting. Old names, facts etc and a surprisingly big meet...a single red course with 150 runners.... It was Camp Schoelkopf on Saturday that was so cold. Many O’s ago….

Bob, thanks for posting. Was great fun to read. Hard to believe that BFLO was only 6 years old at the time. My wife hasn't forgotten standing in the muck at the start getting everyone started.
