Its where the runner and navigator are on the phone together, runner has compass and SI but no map, navigator has a copy of the course and is telling runner what to do, runner is telling navigator what he/she sees

CascadeOC has dabbled with cell phone orienteering (aka "mobile-o") in the past, most notably with our annual
MoboGoGlobo! junior fundraisers from 2009-2011.
Wow I didn't know about this! Looks like it was a success too.
It was, but it wasn't.
We raised money, which was great, of course. But we could have raised more money per organizational-hour had we done something different (eg: just offered another regular event with proceeds to WIOL).
That's one hesitation I have before I'd organize another one. That, and the fact that it's too easy to game the system now (take a photo of the map and text it). The technology was limited enough in 2009-2011 where that really wasn't a concern. And that I've thrown my organizational weight into the Choose Your Adventure Series (which started in 2011), and SART.
Those are some fair points. I wonder if we could put on a WIOL student-run meet with proceeds to WIOL? Or even Caroline and I could do a JNT-member run meet with a portion of proceeds to JNT?
