I'm very impressed looking over your recent training - you look to be in much better shape than I was going into London earlier this year, with some really good faster stuff as well as a great endurance base - I'm sure all that marathon paced running is the way to go and what I lacked a bit of. Taper well, and I'm sure you'll feel great going into the race - a sub-2:50 definitely looks within your grasp if it all goes well on the day.
Cheers Paul. Those long sustained efforts are what I’ve struggled with in the past and it does feel like they’ve brought me along nicely. Only hesitation is I haven’t raced at all in months, so I’m crossing fingers and hoping the good feeling in training translates well to race day!
Nice one Tom, will be watching out for your result!! Agree with Paul that your training has been excellent - as a fellow newish Dad I'm so impressed, I don't know how you guys have managed to balance everything and get even fitter!
Ben, although I’ve moaned a bit about a couple of bugs the last few weeks I think we’ve been really lucky so far with illnesses. I was expecting to have had a permanent cold all year so this is a pleasant surprise. Plus 4 months pat leave with a running buggy works wonders as a base phase :-)
Plus I can almost feel emma pointing out it hasn’t always been that balanced... I’m in so much debt on brownie points, I’m surprised she hasn’t sent the bailiffs in.
