Apparently there was a 4m croc on that beach just days before I went running along it. And crocs have also been seen in the mangroves behind that rail line.

Yeah - gotta be careful in croc territory... definitely no 'andyhill' off-track detours.

I used to go swimming at 4-mile with my brother regularly...until we saw croc footprints along the sand leading into the water after a swim... Too dangerous now - especially the southern end of the beach near the river mouth. I've seen 4m+ beasts on the Palmer reef golf course a few times. If you hit your ball into the water on the 11th hole you don't go looking for it. An old lady with dementia was taken there a few weeks ago - www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-17/human-remains-found...

Wow I knew they were around, but didn’t think they were reasonably common. Probably should’ve kept even more an eye out than I did.
