how many miles do you think/know Lewis is? the sign says 8.3 but my GPS keeps getting 7.5.
I've always gone with the 8.3 simply because the mile markers generate believable splits (or, at least, they did back when I wore a watch). That said, it seems like a very similar trail to Pere Marquette in terms of difficultly and, while I never ran it at race effort, my hard efforts would predict that I was right around an hour when I was in shape. That would argue for it being 7.5 like PM.
Truth is, I really don't care. I've always measured efforts by time since your body only knows how long and how hard it worked, not how much ground was covered.
