BTW, in the pass, they use to have a start every 5 mins, for 1/2 hr. I think this would be better, the group is to big to start running single track all the way

Yeah I would much prefer a staggered start. It was a really fun way to do some lovely long runs, but I personally found it super difficult to actually "race" with so much traffic on such narrow tracks....Really hard to get settled into a rhythm at a decent pace.

Staggered start was nice because then you got to see the fast boys come through (they generally started last). Although I found the mass start a bit more motivating this year because you know the people around you are on the same time. The main problem with the mass start is the queue for the toilets in Harrietville...

They made us run in a little 50m circle first! It would make more sense just to start on the other side of the stream surely
