Maybe you need your very own Cristina-bot for motivation.
At the moment I’m just barely surviving doing one of those, so two is great!
Two is just fine! I have to argue that not many people manage the three! Being a good parent and spouse is way more important that being in shape. Things will get easier as Lukas grows up.
A friend wrote a book called A Slice of Happy where she argues for Focus instead of Balance. She believes it’s impossible and stressful to aim for balance among all the aspects of a busy life, which many people struggle to do. She believes in choosing a few to focus on at a given time. I’m sure “Finish Controls” will be one of the things you choose. ;)
I did it! I punched the finish! Now that I've focused on that slice I can move on to another. :-)
In other news, I feel gross. I hate it. It doesn't matter that I know intellectually that I can't do all of the things. I don't need to do all of the things all of the time. But I need to feel notgross.
Agreed. It sounds like you are your best possible parent self and work self when you feel fit and healthy, whatever that requires. But it must be tough when your kid insists on saying cute things and being adorable all the time.
Hang in there. They get bigger and then you can try to convince them to join you in the fun stuff. Lukas already has the beep part down...
