Nope. Cote is a pretty common last name, but at this point there are only three people alive with that last name who are related to me: my brother and his two daughters. So it looks like it's likely the end of the line for our branch.
My brother and I appear to be the only Wildfogels living in the US, so that's another dead end.
Seemed to be several people with Spanish names in the races, not APers. Was it a "destination race" for them?
Violeta Feliciano is a young woman who has been in Boston for a few months, anyway, maybe an exchange student, and she has been beating up on everybody. She is quite good. There is another young Spanish guy around, Juanma, but I don't see him in the results, so I guess he didn't run. He is pretty good, too.
The two guys who finished right in front of me, Xavier and Rafael I don't know anything about, I saw a lot of Rafael, from about the middle on, always running by me and then getting lost again, showing up a few controls later. Xavier I just saw at #22, he was running, too, but not too accurate.
The guy who finished first, Vilppu, is an exchange student living with Barb Bryant and Dave Yee, and he is very good. Not surprising that he won at all.
The Spanish are friends of Greg Alswede who was working in Madrid the last few years. Violeta and Juanma were here on some kind of short term visa and have returned to Spain. They also were staying with Barb.
Cote, was visiting from Quebec with his family. Xavier is French, he lives in Boston with our BOD member, Susie Guichard. Rafael is from the area, formerly of ROC I think. Juanma was injured.
