Samantha:
When we go out on errands with the car and I carry her while out and about she sleeps away the day. Do you find that it affects her night sleep?

This one somehow didn't, but I really don't know why, felt like it should have! Does it for Sofie?

Samantha:
You know, I don’t think it does either. But her sleep is still rather erratic so when she has a good or bad night it’s hard to know what to attribute it to.

Totally! We had a Sylvia-up-and-wanting-to-play for 3h in the middle of last night and I have no reason to attribute it to...

djalkiri, what are your favorite boring techniques? I was not very successful last night at 2am (“done bed. Lights?”)

djalkiri does (did) an excellent line in endlessly repeated one verse songs. Sometimes with just enough modification each time to avoid putting herself to sleep first.

You should be careful about following her though since neither of our children ever napped past age 18 months.

26 verses of the wheels on the bus, for example. or minimal interaction. Pretend to be asleep. Actually be asleep (this one only worked once; usually they just woke me up again).
