Ive never seen anyone that I don't suspect of Thyroxine use do a hard half and recover for their marathon...go with your heart but maybe do it at sub marathon effort?
My initial thought was to do skyline then use Wilmslow as a MP/sub MP effort, then thoughts of a time at half came in. Good to hear a fast one 3 weeks out is likely foolish.
Speaking to coombsey who has done both he said edale will work the system and I'll probably run my first marathon like a bit of a noob anyway, so im inclined to treat it as a learning experience.
Were I capable of 2.30 I doubt there'd be an issue, but I'm not currently. If edale wasn't a champs race I also wouldn't be fussed! The fact I managed to witter on about it for 400 odd words shows me I don't want to fully commit to a marathon this year - maybe PhD anxiety is as far out of my comfort zone as I'm happy with!
The skyline will be a million times more fun.
It's not as fun as it was before they paved BK.
