Jelly babies are the answer! totally delicious, easy to chew, swallow, and waaaay cheaper than anything branded "energy". or just get whatever version of a tracker bar you like. It's all the same really...

And well done for getting to the finish! sounds pretty bloody tough in the heat...

Thanks Tash! Rob, they had jelly snakes at the checkpoints. It's what saved me! I defo needed something.

I have memories of jelly babies getting wet in my bag during a mountain marathon - used to wrap 4 together as gel equivalent - the resulting mush was pretty grim

Wow, good work - sounds epic!

I find that Nutrigrain bars are good, because they're so light, but on a hot day the chocolate does melt...

Also I would definitely only eat pasta - and lots of it - the night beforehand.

I think I might actually buy a blender and try make something. A mate had made some balls that tasted like Clare's mum's lemon slice and I can definitely always eat a lot of that (I have actually taken the lemon slice on rides with me before).

Cool, I'm too stingy to get a thermomix though. My mate got a good intro to my life on Sunday. Welcome to my flat, I have no food cos I'm never here and don't cook, cos why would I when I live in Melbourne

I dont have a thermomix either. You can do these recipies with a blender or a food processor like I do :)

I don't have any of the above. But I did make mashed-banana-and-oatmeal flapjacks with my bare hands, to take on a rogaine.
