Having abandoned Innov-8 after last two pairs just fell apart -Love my I-rocks and use them now for muddy hill runs around here and in recent races and O - but these are not dobs.
Will be getting some VJ Dobs sometime too - although I like the look of their Sarva's which are not available in UK (I see some spending at Jukola coming on!)
Thanks - will buy as soon as. Ultrasport was there today - I didn't buy shoes just a thumb compass.
Chas any advice here please? thanks. I've lost confidence in my grip - everywhere is a mudbath this winter
They should be at Star Posts
Horses for courses.
I have both Innov8 X-Talons and VJ Integrators.
Steep and muddy = dobs
Flat, dry and lots of hard tracks = Innov8s.
The IRocks have amazing grip in my opinion, only weigh 240g and are much more hard wearing than my last two pairs of Innov-8's - ORocs and X-talon 212
Flat, dry, hard trails = standard trail shoe for me
I think the inov8s win for me in all categories except hardwearingness. I just accept that I'm going to have to buy a lot of them, and only ever get last season's colours when they're half price.
I found iRocks similar to an X-talon, but built for orienteering so much more durable uppers. The soles will still wear as Xtalons (i.e. not that quickly if you save them for their preferred terrain.
If it's not dob conditions I only ever wear old knacked Inov8 for O as there's no point wrecking a new pair's uppers in scrub. Not that I'll bedding much O this year.
