Many would say that rest > training, actually. I would say that rest is a key part of training, as is staying tuned to your body's needs, and when you're under the weather, choosing rest over a run in the cold is probably the better idea. Missing a couple days of training in order to get your body healthy doesn't hurt your training as long as you're training regularly when your body IS healthy.
