I loved it! I'll be curious to hear what you thought of it. Molly's Game was also really good (similarly in the "strong woman" vein).
Made me proud to be a WaPo subscriber.
I loved it, too! I was so happy when Katherine Graham finally found herself and took charge. It was also interesting to learn more about the Pentagon Papers incident, something I heard about growing up but never really understood. I'm also listening to a podcast called Slow Burn
that is teaching me more about Watergate. Again, from the standpoint that I'm learning about something that I grew up with but never completely understood.
On The Media just did an interview with Leslie Gelb, the guy who supervised the Pentagon Papers. Haven’t seen The Post but it made me want to. (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/on-the-media/i...
My sister is a newspaper journalist, and she went to see the movie with a bunch of her coworkers. As you can imagine, they loved it, and they were cheering at various times, including when Graham says "go, go, go" to go ahead with publishing.
Agree, this gave me more background about all that Watergate stuff that was going on when I was a tween but didn't really understand or know about.
A sign of a good movie: we all know the outcome and what happened, but it was still suspenseful, exciting & interesting.
Slow Burn has been interesting and fun to listen to. Prompted us to watch All the President's Men, once again.
That's a good idea! Maybe I'll download that for an upcoming plane ride.
