thanks. in the end, it was peaceful. last time we took cleo to the vet, cleo refused to get out of the car, so we had a vet service come to the house. the doctor was very good. I had no idea there was a business around pet hospice and end of life. not surprising, i guess.
Except for her hips and back, Cleo was still in really good health. Made the decision all the more difficult.
It's hard. Who are we to judge? My beagle made it easy for me. She just went out in the back yard and sat there, refusing to come in. It was about 10 degrees and windy. It was pretty obvious she was done with wanting to live. It's much harder when they don't (or can't) let you know.
I'm so sorry. Such a difficult decision and loss.
