These guys have restructured their race into a stage race (as opposed to continuous)
-11km run (down into the main gorge, along the bottom with a couple of short swims) and back up to the top with an abseil thrown in
- 30km MTB (loops around Murchison station. Hopefully not a repeat of the boring sandy awfulness of the old course, but I haven't heard confirmation of this yet)
- 16km paddle (down the river from Murchison station to the river mouth, no ocean any more)
- 8km clifftop run along the Bigurda trail (some of the best views you can get while running)
Shorter versions of most legs available too
I'm gonna go again, either to drag my sorry backside thru the whole thing solo (there will be very little bike or paddle training involved) OR, even better, as part of a team.
Anyone out there keen on riding or paddling?
I can sort accomodation in Kalbarri, or, if you like getting up super early, you can stay at my place overnight and head up in the morning.
I'd be sorely tempted for the paddle. Do you still have your PRS?
Yep. Need to stick the drain cover back on and clean off the cobwebs, but otherwise good to go.
