Great job! I remember when I did trans rockies and coming down from Hope's pass toasted my legs.
The race sounds great, except for the whole lack of shade part. I rescind my statement about wanting to join you and am even more impressed with your new race prep strategy and race performance!
I’m not sure that I dare try this strategy again! But it’s interesting and curious that I felt relatively energetic right to the end, given the circumstances. I ate and drank pretty well. I wonder if that has a bigger impact on tired legs than I give it credit for.
I think someone who likes the Bear Canyon Loop would like this race too. You know how to handle lack of shade!
Sounds like an awesome race, with so much downhill - great! :)
Downhill hurts more than uphill but at least it keeps the heart rate down!
Love the photos! And I'm so glad you guys had good weather for it. This looks like one to put on the bucket list!
Sounds like a fantastic trip and race!
Sounds like a great way to end a running/biking/hikiing vacation!
Downhill is a killer, especially if you still have to run after. Everyone thinks that Western States would be easier because of the elevation loss.
Nice work !
Obviously relaxing , some exercise , strong margaritas is the way to roll now before races (:
Btw I just heard from Denise McHale that they were in town but she got sick and pulled the chute the night before the race.
Likely story. She heard you were in town and didn’t want a beat down.
That explains where Kilian went!
