I wouldn't do it if it involved a phone (but then I might not be able to come across at that time anyway...)
Don't underestimate the novelty :-). I carry the phone in a bum bag, and I can feel it buzz when it registers the control. Navigation by map, as usual.
We're having a trial event in 2 weeks - urban/street style not forest and buildings not close together.
Urban seems to work fine. I had no issues the last couple of weeks. But the moment you get under any sort of canopy, I generally had issues. Standing waiting for the phone to fix. Some others just ran through and got the beep. Peeved as I had a new Pixel. Julie's iphone 6 seemed to work much better. If this takes off, we will soon be comparing phone models much the way we compare compasses- fast and slow.
And yes, I used a bum bag. But I fear bum bag was part of the problem. Took to holding phone above my head near controls. I think an arm band phone holder would be better.
The 1st time I used this app, was the Sth part of Diamond Hill, Worked well. Maybe its the phone?
It cost too much to be the phone.......grrr. I want a fast setting phone.
