Can't believe how much traveling you are doing!!!
Me either. Spring Break baby.
I am sitting here kinda numb and depressed/fatigued. I mix things up within a certain pattern which is contradictory and I see your training on this trip and my mind races as I feel the dirt and wind and warmth as well as twists, turns uphill and downhill running and feel envious of your whole experience while being happy for you at the same time. It's my own fault to be in such a rut...I'm not writing and I am not vacationing.
I'm not sure how much more you can do when you 'officially' retire. Impressive training and when I think about my 9:41 miles and my 8:45 finish and the effort it took and read about your 7 min finish miles, etc I'm a tad jealous...but again happy and impressed for you and motivated to keep plugging away and see what happens.
In 2014 from Jan to spring I improved from track 10k time trails over 12 min a mile down to 8:15. I did a 5 miler in about 8:40 in the past 2 years and that is my recent high water mark. So I'm competing against my recent self, you and time.
