Yeah, bit of a sh*t, but it is the competitor's responsibility, no matter how much I might bleat about it. I just really didn't expect it to be an issue.
Bad luck for you, too - number 5! You should have just gone straight to the Finish, you were right by it! Plenty of ice and some rehab and you'll be fine for the JK :-).

It shouldn't have happened. That's the biggest problem.

The units were all set to the standard 4 hours standby (as requested). Were they ones that were used in the morning as if they were put out (and turned on) at 9am then they would have turned off by the time you got there unless someone pre-ran the courses.

That's certainly my guess

Terry (controller) got there at 10 and didn’t start checking controls until 10.30. As part of that he punched them all and said they were fine...

I would have given you it if your splits look reasonable. I mean, if you were first started and the controls were turned off, its not surprising that you mispunched.

Well, Grace (who was one minute behind me with her SIAC) had to punch them to switch them on when her card didn't beep/flash... dunno. I guess that either they hadn't been changed from a 2hr to a 4hr active window as intended or they hadn't switched on properly, but they certainly weren't on. Whatevers. I am over it. :-D
