Can't wait to see it. Hopefully before the end of the decade.
I am impressed that there is a local Rice Movie Club.
Well, it's one Rice grad who's REALLY into movies (he goes every weekend, sometimes on both Saturday and Sunday). I like that he sees a variety of both mainstream and artsy stuff. Sometimes it's a dozen or so people, sometimes just three of us. It's a 30- to 45-minute drive for me, but more fun than seeing movies alone (and less hassle than going through the headache of being the main organizer / coordinator among my local friends). ;-)
So, what did you think? I saw it Friday and while I'm not a big fan of comic book movies, I liked this one. Mainly because I thought it was a beautiful movie, such great cinematography.
I didn't l particularly like it (but I had trouble thinking of superhero movies that I did like). In particular, I thought it failed on the things its being praised for.
I liked it. I enjoyed it at least as much as any of the other superhero / Marvel movies I've seen (which is a very short list -- just the Ironman movies), and I appreciated the unique perspective. It was corny at times but no more so than the Ironman movies -- and I especially liked the female warrior characters. #ToughnessGoals!
