I had grippy shoes last year (rocklites) and my feet were absolutely trashed from them (a LOT of firetrail and some steep descents on concrete). If it's dry, I would consider roadies... The shorter course might be a bit better tho.
Btw, upgrade to 45km and get an UTMB point no? :)
Ok but I think I'm also playing it safe using grippy shoes having just sprained ankle in roadies.
Was in 45km but with Buffalo a week later I figured it's better to play it safe before UTA. 22km does give you 2 UTMB points.
At least I think that's right? What's the difference between ITRA and Mountain Points?
"Finishers of the 45km course will earn 2 iTRA points (3 Mountain points) while finishers of the 22km course will earn 1 iTRA point (2 Mountain points)"
