Was the presentation good?
The steep skiing film fest? Yeah. Carbon grew tired of the live presentation by the guy who did a lot of the first descents in the area but I enjoyed some of it. At first I thought I would hear about some lines I might want to ski but now I know they are steeeeeeep!! Too steep for me (60 degrees... that's a big difference from 40 degrees that I have had fun on).
Then the two films were fun and funny. People skiing crazy steep stuff off Mont Blanc. One film that had Kilian in it, he was running up the mountains. Another where they referred to the specialty of "dry skiing" (skiing where the rock face isn't holding much snow, kind of like what ice climbers call "dry tooling"). Lots of funny lines by the French skiers as they look down a couloir with patches of rock: "such a beautiful couloir.... conditions look good, I wonder why no one has skied it yet?"
