Whenever Cessnock parkrun starts I will come up to retain my regionaire status and maybe see you there doing the same!

Don’t know how I ended up with two comments and cannot see how to delete!

I found out a while back that you can't delete a comment which is the start of a thread; only the log owner can do that...

Yeah you can only delete a comment within a thread, not at the beginning of one - although you can delete the contents.

Mess Eng - heard rumours ages ago about New Lambton in an attempt to ease newy's numbers. But hasn't come yet. The Cessnock one was possibly at Nulkaba but again fizzled. It takes a lot to get one going.

It’s strange some of the Sydney ones are really close together (like within 2 km) and yet the course isn’t that inspiring with nothing setting them apart.
Then they compete for the same pool of volunteers.
Yet people fight for 2 years to get them approved.

Every parkrun in Newcastle area was thought that it would decrease Newys attendance but they all just keeps drawing new runners into the pool.

Some of the parkruns down here have been packed with 400+ runners but not the crazy 700+ I have seen at Newy.

If we get over to Kangaroo Island in the next year it could be interesting as they get 10-20 only.
It could end up like Murray Bridge where I was coming 2nd until the last 500 m!

I have three parkruns within about 15km of me, two of which are only 5km apart from each other and one of those is boring as batshit (although the other one is far too complex to get any sort of reasonable time). Only one of the three regularly draws in excess of 150 people, the other two generally around the 50-80 mark.

A lot of parkrun is the "social" nature or vibe.

Yes I've noticed many people go because they know other people there.
