Why didn't they have red x's on it signifying not allowed?
Chris Forne is a superman! Great that they had great adv racer Nathan Fa'ave (& family) and Coast to Coast multiple champ Steve Gurney there too. Make sure you compare routes with Chris.

Chris went past me just before #15 (started 24mins behind). I didn't realise it was him as I never really know what he looks like but he threw my first route choice when I started to follow, then I got lost going to #16 - the tracks didn't seem to be as marked and I wasn't the only one who had mishaps there.

I think if they wanted to stop people riding back through the start they should have put Xes at least on the short section of track back to the main road (I got held up by a car exiting) but the guy at the finish said they didn't think people would ride that way (as a setter I have found that people will always ride routes that you never even considered). Course 6 had a different start triangle that went straight to the road so perhaps it would have confused people. If you're referring to the fence crossing though, the fence, road and mapped single track were all virtually on top of each other so throwing Xes in there too would have made a nice mess.

Shame I didn't beat Nathan yesterday and I think without the errors at 14 & 16 I may have done (or if I could just ride rocky and steep downhills).
