New shoes? Your stress fracture must have really had you worried. As an ex-bikie, you must have certainly be an advocate for minimizing 'flex' in your sports equipment at one time.

So by being seen running in Hokas, I'd guess you're signifying to all your old USCF buddies, and the world in general, that you've turned a new leaf...and not a bit ashamed about it! :-)

Actually, the Hokas are super stiff which is why I got them for recovering from the stress fracture. Yes, they have a lot (too much, really) of cushion, but the foot is kept very rigid on top of that cushion. I've basically been using them in lieu of a walking cast for the last six weeks.
