As is that Biggie, aging very well. My god that song was everywhere.

Might be time for an 'best original songs of sampled hip hop tracks' list...

From 1982, here's 'Straight To Hell' by The Clash:

...sampled on the 2010 song 'Paper Planes' by M.I.A.

Mick Jones was famous for sampling the Clash in Big Audio Dynamite.

Now BAD, there's a band that is not aging well!

And Nev, agreed.

I had a peep of a couple of their songs.

...quite happy to have never heard of them.

True to the acronym.

Big Audio Dynamite was really good early on! E=MC2 is a cool song, especially for the time!
But their sound really was crushed dead by grunge. Also Mick Jones wardrobe is pretty stunning in a bad way.

Ya Hammer. That song, (and album) was new to me.

It's solid.

That said, it looks Eno and Byrne sampled this for 'Regiment':

It looks like that beat isn't even the star of that song!

The trumpet and the dancing. That's the winning formula.
