I have had some trouble too, but on the face of the knee, could be torn or injured meniscus. Anyway, squats and erging keep it strong.....Sandra may have some ideas.
I had trouble with my left knee too when coming back after pregnancy. My glutes/hope were weak and tight and it put strain on my ITB which in turn irritates the knee. Lots of ball rolling on the glutes really helped.

Well increasing your milage too fast will also cause knee pain. Be careful to build... (normal 4 hours of training to 8 hrs by the end of this week). I also have other thoughts on knee pain, but I would have to see exactly where it hurting you.
Rolling is my favorite answer to most injuries! I will have to get back into that daily. And yes, this past week was a big increase. I didn't really notice, so actually thanks for pointing it out! Will take it down a notch with the running for the rest of this week. And I go on a mini vacation next week with friends to Gotland, so I'm sure that will be forced rest as well :)
Good point Sandra. The mileage doubling could definitely be the culprit. Not only mileage, but intensity. Best to increase miles at easy pace, and only do intervals of 10% of weekly mileage.
I mean, it's been hurting for a few weeks, I only bring it up now :)
